Last updated 19 October 2026.

This policy explains what personal information Skillovert collects, why, who sees it and what choices you have. We collect only what we need to run the Platform and keep it safe. We do not sell your personal information.

1. What we collect

  • Account details — your name, email address, country, time zone, phone number (if you give it), and your password (stored only as a one-way hash).
  • Sign-in security — your two-factor details (the secret is stored encrypted), recovery codes (stored hashed), and records of sign-ins and sessions.
  • The Skillovert app — for each device you add: a random device identifier kept by the app, the browser and system it runs on, the country, and the network it was added from (kept only as a one-way hash, never as an address), plus the dates it was added and last used. If you turn on notifications, the address your browser’s push service gives us to reach that device.
  • Learning and activity — your enrollments, progress, test results, certificates, bookings, events, support requests, feedback and the tools you use.
  • Payments and credits — your credit balance and history, payment requests, and the receipts you upload to prove an offline payment. We do not receive or store card numbers.
  • Identity verification (optional) — if you verify your identity, the documents you upload. They are encrypted, stored privately and shown only to authorized staff; every view is logged.
  • Device and network signals — your IP address, browser and device type, and similar technical identifiers. We use these, together with the app’s device identifier, to keep accounts secure, to detect abuse such as one person opening many accounts to claim free credits, and to fix problems. We treat a shared device or network as a reason to look, not as proof, because families and offices share them.
  • Cookies and analytics — see the Cookie policy.
  • Messages you send us — contact forms, support requests and feedback.

2. Why we use it

  • To create and run your account, give you access to what you have paid for and process credits.
  • To provide learning, tools, meetings, certificates, support and grants.
  • To keep the Platform secure, prevent fraud and enforce our terms.
  • To send you service messages (verification codes, receipts, reminders) and, if you choose, updates and launches.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it (analytics, only if you allow it).
  • To meet legal duties.

3. Who we share it with

We share information only with the services that help us run Skillovert, under their own privacy terms, and only what each needs:

  • Cloudflare — hosting, security (including bot checks), storage and email delivery.
  • Browser push services (Google, Apple, Mozilla and others) — if you turn on notifications, they deliver a short wake-up to your device. It carries no text; your device then asks Skillovert what to show.
  • Google — analytics (Google Analytics, only with your consent) and advertising (Google AdSense / Ad Manager), where switched on, and YouTube videos embedded on the site.
  • Adobe Fonts — fonts shown on the site.
  • Staff and trainers at Skillovert who need your information to help you.
  • Grantors — if a grantor pays for your seat, they see progress summaries for the learners they support. Identity documents and private messages are never shared with grantors.
  • Authorities — when the law requires it.

Information may be processed in countries other than yours, including by these providers. We choose providers that protect it appropriately.

4. Advertising

Where ads are switched on, third-party vendors including Google use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners show ads based on your visit to our site and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at adssettings.google.com or aboutads.info, and learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Ads are shown only to visitors who have made a cookie choice where the law requires one. We never show ads inside the paid learning area. See Advertising.

5. How long we keep it

We keep account and learning records while your account is open and as long afterwards as needed for certificates (which must stay verifiable), payment records, security and legal duties. Sign-in and session records are kept for a limited time and then deleted. Identity documents are deleted when you ask or when they are no longer needed. Audit logs are archived securely.

6. How we protect it

Passwords are hashed; identity documents are encrypted; connections use HTTPS; access to personal data is limited to authorized staff and recorded. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and keep your sign-in codes private.

7. Your choices and rights

  • See and update your details in Settings.
  • Choose your cookie settings at any time in Cookie preferences.
  • Leave mailing lists from your dashboard.
  • Ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete your account, through contact or support. Some records (for example payments and certificates) may have to be kept; we will tell you what we can delete.
  • If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another place with data-protection rights, you may also object to or restrict some uses and complain to your local authority.

8. Children

Skillovert is not for children under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, tell us and we will delete it.

9. Changes

We will post changes here with a new date and tell you about important ones.
